Addressing the needs of Victorian prisoners
Overview
This audit focused on Corrections Victoria’s progress in implementing a key element of the strategy, the Reducing Re-offending Framework. The framework incorporates the targeting of appropriate rehabilitative interventions to those prisoners with the highest risk of reoffending. This program of reform is in its early stages of implementation. Notwithstanding the progress made by the Department in implementing these reforms, this report identifies areas needing further attention if all of the benefits foreshadowed in the new approach to prisoner management, are to be achieved.
