Outcomes of Investing in Regional Victoria

This dashboard is an interactive tool that provides information about the distribution of Regional Development Victoria’s (RDV) Regional Infrastructure Development Fund (RJIF) and Regional Growth Fund (RGF) grants to each regional local government area (LGA). It also provides a snapshot of economic and social indicators for those LGAs.

We have taken the grant data from RDV’s database and made it public for the first time through this audit and dashboard.

The economic and social indicator data comes from the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS).

The dashboard has three pages:

1. The first page displays the amount of RJIF and RGF grants given to each LGA. Each of the 48 regional LGAs received at least one RJIF grant, and RDV advises that some additional LGAs received grants under the RGF.
2. The second page provides a snapshot of economic and social indicators for the 48 regional LGAs. The page provides information about each LGA’s employment, population and Socio-Economic Indexes for Areas (SEIFA) results. Further data is available from the ABS and RDV.
3. The third page displays funding for each LGA compared to their average population (2007–17).

To access a detailed view of each chart, hover over the chart and click the ‘Focus Mode’ button at the top right of the window.
To return to the dashboard from ‘Focus Mode’, click ‘Back to Report’ at the top left of the window.
