Auditor-General’s Report on the Annual Financial Report of the State of Victoria, 2005-06
Overview
This report sets out the results of the audit of the Financial Report for the State of Victoria (the AFR) for the year ended 30 June 2006. It also provides parliament and other users of the AFR with our assessment of the explanations provided by the Treasurer of Victoria and the Minister for Finance of the financial outcomes achieved by the state and the general government sector, in chapters 1 to 3 of the AFR which are not subject to audit.
The report also includes the results of the audit of the special purpose Report on the Financial Contribution by the Victorian Government to the Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games, which was prepared by the Department for Victorian Communities to facilitate transparency and accountability about the aggregate financial outcomes of the games.
