Overview
The Treasurer's Statement and the related subsidiary statements have been checked by Auditor-General and are in agreement with the accounts of the Treasurer.
This Report is arranged to present a review of the Treasurer's accounts for the year, followed, under appropriate headings, by the more detailed information and explanations necessary to comply with statutory requirements.
On 14 February 1966 decimal currency came into effect. Therefore, all financial amounts in this report are expressed in decimal currency. To facilitate comparison, all amounts shown in respect of previous years or quoted from statutes operative before 14 February 1966 have been converted to decimal currency. In some instances, amounts are presented in exact monetary detail either to conform with statutory requirements or to accord with long established practice. All other amounts are rounded off to the nearest dollar.
The Auditor General's comments upon the accounts of the several major public authorities which the Office is required by law to audit will be furnished in a supplementary report which is now in course of preparation.
