Results of financial statement audits for agencies with 30 June 2006 balance dates
Overview
The report summarises the results of audits of around 460 public sector agencies, including all government departments, local governments and most other agencies.
The report notes a reduction in the number of qualified audit opinions issued (from 11 in 2004–05, to 9 in 2005–06), as well as an overall improvement in the timeliness of financial reporting (with 85 per cent of agencies meeting the statutory 12-week reporting deadline, compared with 80 per cent in 2004–05).
