Management of food safety in Victoria

Overview

The objective of the audit was to determine whether the regulatory framework for the management of food safety in Victoria efficiently and effectively minimises the risks of food-related illness. The audit assessed whether: registration and compliance processes efficiently and effectively achieved improved food safety outcomes; food safety community education and promotion activities achieved their aims; an adequate performance measurement, monitoring and reporting framework was in place at a Statewide and Local Government level.
