Utilisation of plant and equipment, Youth Guarantee

Overview

Government organisations currently hold in excess of $2.5 billion in plant and equipment. The overall objectives of the audit were to review plant and equipment management practices to determine whether: effective systems and procedures were employed by organisations to achieve the economic and efficient acquisition, installation, utilisation and disposal of plant and equipment and procedures were in place to control and monitor external hire of plant and equipment. The second part of the report reviewed the implementation of various aspects of the Youth Guarantee. This initiative was introduced by the Victorian Government in March 1985 to promote better opportunities for the employment and education of young people in Victoria.
